Covenant is authorized to grant degrees by the State of California as a Christian University pursuant to California Education Code (CEC:§94739(b)(6), SCHOOL CODE: 1924981, Federal ID: 33-0814453). Currently Covenant is an accredited member of the Accrediting Commission International (ACI) which is by far the most respected and legitimate accrediting association of its kind. Covenant is affiliated with the Association of Christian School International (ACSI, Member School Number: 107355), and Association of Christian Continuing Education Schools and Seminaries (ACCES). Covenant students majoring in Christian Counseling can get the second grade Certificate of Qualification as Licensed Professional Counselor. Covenant may recommend them for membership of American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC).

We have been very pleased with these recognitions, but since we are committed to achieving our highest level of excellence, and since Bureau for Private Post Secondary and Vocational Education (BPPVE) has accepted our application as temporary approval status on July 15, 2003, we, in the new name of Western Covenant University, are currently in the process of acquiring full approval from BPPVE. Covenant will keep striving to upgrade both in academic and spiritual realms.
